As a result, the internet-savvy population is continuing to expand worldwide.<\/p>\n<p>As an internet company, our job is to provide value-added services and a superior user experience to our large and highly engaged global consumer base. As of March 2018, we had approximately 190 million monthly active users on\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/blog.mi.com\/en\/2018\/06\/08\/newsxiaomi-launches-redmi-y2-and-miui-10-in-india\/\">MIUI<\/a>, our proprietary operating system built on the Android kernel. Now, we\u2019re able to offer niche mobile internet services \u2013 unmatched by traditional players \u2013 while providing an upgraded user experience at a fair price. For example, we offer unlimited data for just RMB 1 per day, providing endless opportunities to explore the mobile internet.<\/p>\n<p>In 2017, 8.6 percent of Xiaomi\u2019s revenues and 39.3 percent of our gross profit came from internet services, derived from\u00a0<strong>advertising<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>value-added services<\/strong>.
